Derek Montgomery is a visual journalist based on the north shore of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota specializing in team and individual sports photography, commercial work and photojournalism. You probably already knew that. What you might not know is that I LOVE sports, anything science fiction (hello, The Expanse!), Dr. Steve Brule and of course, my wonderful wife and kids. Montgomery Sports Foundation
Founded in 2024 by Derek and Kristin Montgomery, the Montgomery Sports Foundation works to remove financial barriers in youth sports across the Duluth area. The foundation supports young athletes by helping families afford the cost of participation so more kids have the opportunity to play, compete, and grow through sports.
