I had shot a couple weddings at Giant’s Ridge before, but each time the ceremony was in Virginia inside a church. No issues there. This time, I was back at Giant’s Ridge, but Ashley and Tim decided to have the ceremony at the Quarry, which is just that–a quarry now filled with water that provided an incredible backdrop. Open pits from active and shuttered mines are commonplace on the range and a lot of the time they fill with water and become recreational areas. It’s nice to see one of those previous operations turn into something so pretty. This was also my third straight very large wedding party. I think they had 16 people not including attendants or ushers in their wedding party. It’s a lot to handle for the group photos, but it also means the dance floor is usually a lot crazier. They did not disappoint. Congrats to Ashley and Tim!!
