I spent the final hours of 2011 with Antonia and Eric as they celebrated their wedding at Superior Shores in Two Harbors, Minn. They lucked out with snow showers the day before and the night of so their winter wedding looked a little more like winter. Antonia grew up in Slovakia and they have this tradition where they smash a plate and make the groom clean up the mess. It’s supposed to show that the husband is capable of cleaning and Eric shined throughout the cleanup process. They even had him dump what he swept up into a bag with the bottom cut out. You didn’t think you were getting off that easy Eric? Ha!
