Like most wedding days, Amy and Aaron’s wedding day was one of extremes.  Set along  the shore of Lake Superior at the beautiful Grand Superior Lodge, there were emotional extremes in the form of crying and smiling, laughter and nerves.  The same can be said for the weather.  Snow, rain, clouds, sun.  That can also be an extreme FRUSTRATION when it comes to the photographer.  With the sun constantly poking its head in and out of the clouds, warm sun followed by sideways sleet and snow, all of these combine to make it a challenge to photograph and make sure you have the proper exposure with the constantly changing conditions.

It’s also days like this, with a mix of weather conditions, that allow for some pretty dramatic pictures and you can see a little of that in the photo of Amy and Aaron on the rocks.  In a way, I think the story behind that photo sums up what a wedding day is all about it.  A bride, a groom, overcast skies but a couple illuminated in the warm glow of the sun.  Extremes at work.
